THE DC QUEER CHRISTIANITY PROJECT

Through a combination of a survey and interviews, we asked several LGBTQ+ people about their attitudes and comfort towards their current church and a previous church in their life. Despite the complexities associated with this intersection of identity, many of our participants have been able to reconcile their spirituality and sexuality and find an accepting worship community. This project also includes a database of hundreds of churches in the DC area and classifies them as accepting, neutral, or discriminatory to help LGBTQ+ individuals find welcoming spiritual communities.
